Jammu, Oct 11 (KNO): The Jammu Division, under the direction of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, conducted various campaigns to ensure excellent service to all passengers.
To ensure quality food, pure drinking water, and clean toilets, ticket checking drives are conducted at stations and trains to curb ticketless and irregular travel, a spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
“On October 10, 2025, a surprise ticket checking drive was conducted in the Banihal-Katra section. This drive was conducted by a team led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, including Assistant Commercial Manager, Manoj Meena, Ticket Inspector, Abdul Rashid, and other ticket checking staff. As part of the ticket checking drive, trains running from Banihal to Katra were checked on both sides,” he said.
During this ticket checking drive, 22 passengers were charged for travelling without tickets and a fine of Rs 23,760 was collected.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, stated, “Ticket checking drives will be conducted periodically in the division to curb ticketless and irregular travel. Therefore, all passengers are requested to travel with valid tickets. The Railways respects all its passengers and wishes them a pleasant journey.”—(KNO)
